"Casa Caimo-Delfino"… was born as a residential villa in the 14th Century and, due to series of forced occupation and other vicissitudes that progressively modified its name, it successively hosted "De Poscolle" family, the Confraternity of "Pio Ospedale", and the "Candido" family, to, eventually, in the 16th Century become "Casa Caimo". In 1817, after another change of ownership, it was bought by Luigi Andrea Delfino, who deeply modified the structure of the building. Shops and a stable were added, and finally, with the two successive owners, Pietro Antivari followed by Angelo Rosmini, the building moved to its current aspect. In the mid 18th Century, under the guidance of Mr. Bullfoni and Mr. Volpato, the building was transformed into an elegant hotel, initially named "Gran Hotel Europa" and then "Grande Albergo d´Italia". In Udine, "a home away from home" was born...
